The Sales Process

Most people can't make any sales online because they did not get this right. You need to get the sales process right in your mind, else whatever you do would not work.

It is of utmost importance to have the correct ideas and intentions during each stage of the online sales process.

The conversion from viewers to buyers would always depend upon doing this process correctly.

Doing this process wrongly would be an error, which when not corrected, would cause you to have zero sales online.

The continuity or progression from one stage to another is just as important. If there's a disconnect, you basically sabotage your whole sales process.

1. Your Ad

The sales process basically starts with an ad.

During this stage, your aim is to attract the viewer to click through your ad. The viewer should not perceive your ad as trying to get them to buy something. More so if we're advertising on social platforms. We must also take note of the kind of language we use. Social language on a social platform.

Get creative here. Your ads should provoke thoughts and emotions, create curiosity and suspense, interrupt patterns, look different, intentionally confuse with ambiguity, challenge beliefs, controversial... basically get people to click!

Have fun thinking out of the box!

If you don't get this stage right, you can forget about the other stages because you'll unlikely be getting the opportunity to convert your viewers to buyers.

2. Your Presell Page

After the viewer clicks through your ad, they would land on your presell page.

There must be continuity. What they see from the ad should be "repeated" here. Not the whole ad, but the elements that remind the viewer of the ad should be present, making the viewer feel at ease instead of having their guard up.

Your aim here is to shift their mindset from being an ad viewer to being aware of their problem and being interested to find out more about the possible solutions you have to offer.

Bring their attention to a certain problem they are facing and then offer them something like a few tips to curb their problem in exchange for their email address or other particulars. You are not selling them your product at this point, but preparing them to look at your product on the next page after they click through the presell page.

3. Offer/Sales Page

After the viewer clicks through your presell page, the expectation needs to be met on the offer or sales page. The sales pages of different vendors convert differently. We need to actually go through the sales page to test and see if it's able to convert cold traffic to buyers. This is what I'll look out for, the ability of the sales page to convert cold leads to sales. Test and track small. Scale up gradually when the rates are acceptable and profitable.

When the first 2 stages are done right, sales conversion would be the natural occurrence. Bear in mind that your visitors are real people who are looking for a solution you can offer with your product(s).

We can test the ad, the presell page and the offer together or separately for their click through rates. I personally think that about 40% CTR is acceptable for us to consider scaling up. The higher the better of course

Are You Expecting Making Money Online to Be Instant?

Many people fail to make money online not because they cannot overcome the learning curve, but because they perceive making money online to be quick or even instant, and thus have unrealistic expectations that can easily be dashed, ultimately preventing them from learning and earning.

It’s like composing a song or writing a book... If you become famous overnight, well done! However, do you think it’s realistic to expect yourself to become famous overnight?

How we perceive mere words could truly have a big impact on us, not just emotionally, but on every other aspect of our life!

Things are slow before they are fast. If you’ve ever run a business offline, you would be ecstatic if you were able to breakeven just after nine months 😉

Thus, when you get your concept of making money online right, you can easily manage your expectations and not give up when you’re actually near success.

Know this. I don’t want you to merely succeed for a short while, I intend to have you build a legacy for yourself 👍🏼

Is Marketing Merely A Number’s Game?

Many people change after they have become a sales person or a marketer or a business person, and I want you to be aware of this and thus be able to stay true to who you truly are.

I see it important today to bring to your awareness the main culprit...

Be careful not to turn your leads, prospects and clientele into mere numbers. It may be a "number's game" to most marketers, but in truth, it's actually an exchange of goodwill and value between people. People buy from us or do business with us because they have placed their trust in us.

Just remember that when we talk about click through rates, sales conversion rates... we are referring to real actual people.

Also, if you are serving with a person in mind instead of just merely trying to ramp up numbers, then you will become a better online marketer and business person, and your sales will also go up because you become closer to your true self, and you will be sending out great and healthy signals for your clients to trust you 

When you become the person you are meant to be, your sales will follow suit. So, treating your clientele as people rather than mere numbers is the way to go!

A Simple Way To Start Earning While You Learn…

To make money online, you need 2 things up and running for you.

Know what your target audience needs and make the relevant offers...
☀️ Build Your Clientele Base
Capture your visitors’ email addresses and follow up by offering value, sharing testimonials, building rapport etc. Eventually, some of them will buy from you.

2️⃣ Driving Web Traffic to your Sales Funnel
This actually builds up your clientele base and makes you sales.

That’s all.

Let’s first consider the ✒️Sales Funnel...

Either you create one or use one created by someone else. It would take a while for you to learn to create one, so I would move in the direction of using an existing well-oiled funnel created by someone else to start you on this journey.

I’ve chosen Chuck's funnel because it has a free course that is helpful when it comes to shortening your learning curve to make money online doing affiliate marketing. It would take some time for me to build a good course up that can work for everyone. Yes, I’ll be doing so. Meanwhile, this is the plan using what's already available and known to be great.

You’ll be introducing others to Chuck’s free Super Affiliate Marketing Course that will make you some money as your visitors get serious about affiliate marketing. This is something totally do-able, profitable and it also gives you the opportunity to understand the whole online marketing process at the same time 👍🏼

Now, for a start, if you choose not to use an autoresponder like GetResponse in this case, you would still be able to make sales without building up your clientele base. But, if you truly want to turn this into a long term income, using an autoresponder is the way to begin. If you need help here, just let me know.

Let’s move on to ✒️ Driving Web Traffic

Some people classify web traffic into 5 types. I’ll personally prefer to broadly and simply categorize them into 2 kinds: Free and Paid.

Word of mouth is free. Some of you are already experts when it comes to this. Or it could be latent inside you.

Basically, to run any business, we need to connect with people. As we age, sometimes we lose our motivation to connect with people due to the many disappointments we face in life. Think about this.

Social media traffic may not seem relevant, but it is. Think of your business as benefitting someone you may not know directly. Your friend who “knows” you may not actually know you. Similar to the story of Jesus. He is rejected by the very people who were with him when he grew up. Isn’t he the carpenter’s son? But your friends’ friends (like the Gentiles)... they just might see the real value you have to offer!

Even using WhatsApp can be effective, fast and even viral!

BUT... there is a pretty thin line between sharing and spamming... advertising can be a tricky issue.

That’s why starting a personally branded blog is a good way to share without blatantly advertising in your text messages... get the drift? You can point people to your blog where you share your experiences, thoughts, dreams.... plus your biz opportunities or products...

A Facebook page might be a good idea, but a blog is usually far better at getting people to be letting down their guard and be more open to what you have to offer. A Facebook page gives people the idea that you are doing something big, and if they have a different perspective of you, like you’re the “carpenter’s son”, then the results would likely be less than ideal as compared to a blog.

So starting a blog is a great traffic driving strategy that’s long term.

Traffic exchanges (TRAFFIC Ad Bar and TrafficSwarm) work well if you are using a capture page. But Chuck’s sales page converts pretty well there, so it’s worth putting it up there.

Buying traffic from Udimi can work well, but you need to be able to track your sales conversion to decide whether or not to scale things up. Meaning, let’s simply say you have 3 out of 100 people visiting your site and only 1 buying from you, you have a 3% click through rate and a 33% conversion rate. As more visitors are asked to view your site, these numbers go down a little. So you need time to test things out on a small scale, and only scale up your marketing when the results are consistently good. As a guide, if your click through rate is more than 40% and your conversion rate is more than 15%, you can start scaling up progressively. These percentages may drop when you scale things up. So, scale things up gradually to make better decisions on whether to scale them up even further.

Now, it’s going to be an extra long post if I continue to talk about traffic. So I’ll stop here for now. The plan is simple. Keep it simple and you can start making money sooner.

Do Traffic Exchanges Still Work To Bring In Targeted Traffic?

The simple answer is:

Yes, provided that you know how to use them properly.

If you're surfing on Traffic Exchanges like TrafficSwarm and TRAFFIC Ad Bar, please be aware that that's using your time to drive a particular kind of traffic to your website.

Truth be told, it's not going to help your domain name get ranked on search engines. In fact, it works the opposite way. So, it's best to just put in capture pages on Traffic exchanges. Use these to build your list that you can retarget later.

Click throughs on Traffic Exchanges sometimes happen when you're offering an irresistible business opportunity, but what most of these people at Traffic Exchanges are really hungry for is real targeted traffic, leads and sales.

Knowing your audience is key in marketing.

Whatever research you do, just remember this key.
